Yesterday was quite a big day.
It was Amélie’s kindergarten visit. I dropped Elliot and Adrien at daycare (it was his first time at daycare) early in the morning so that I could be at the visit with my daughter for 8:30.
There were so many emotions. She was shy, happy, excited, a bit anxious, but she really had a good time. Once we got inside the school, we went to the gymnasium and found which teacher she would be assigned to for the morning. Then, once she had received her name tag and I had received the pile of documents, she went with the little group of students to have fun while the parents stayed in the gym to receive all of the important information pertaining to next year.
Once we were done at the school, we drove out to grab a snack.
Amélie was super excited and was happy to talk about how she did some drawing and listened to a story when she was in the classroom. Once we were done, I decided, on a whim, to go a check out if they had an opening for a mini-manucure at the salon I go to. Luckily, they did and Amélie picked yellow polish (which was a surprise because she’s pretty partial to pink usually) with gold sparkles.
Once we were done, I decided to go and have lunch with her at a restaurant of her choosing. Predictably, she picked Benny and Co. (which is a rotisserie-type place) and ordered some chicken tenders for herself (though, at first, she mistakenly asked for porc tenderloin by accident – she still has trouble with recognizing different types of meat lol).
Once we got back, I took some time to practice my flute and she asked me to take out the synthesizer so that she could “practice” with me. It was a lot of fun. On that note, she’s actually been asking me more and more often if she can start taking music lessons – specifically flute lessons. So, once I get back to work in September and start having a salary again, I’ll probabaly see if my flute teacher can take her.
All in all it was a really wonderful day and I was happy to be able to spend it with Amélie and give her my undivided attention – a rare occurrence in a family of four young children.
What are some of the activities that you like to do with you children when you get some one-on-one time with them?
shes beautiful – loved reading and have followed 🙂 xx

Yes! I can’t believe how quickly life is going. It seems like just yesterday, she was a baby and now she’s starting school in a few months!
